DEMOREST, Ga. – The Piedmont College men's tennis team participated in a pair of matches with a split squad Sunday earning a 9-0 win against conference foe Berea at home and dropping a 6-3 match against Emmanuel on the road.
At home against the Mountaineers, the Lions lost just three total sets on the day making quick work of Berea. The Lions swept through doubles play with the closest match coming at #1 doubles as
JACKSON HILL &
NATHAN METZGER won 8-2.
In singles play, every Lion won 6-0, 6-0 with the exception of
JACKSON HILL with a 6-0, 6-1 win at #2. Piedmont's lineup at home was heavy with returners with
NATHAN METZGER at #1,
JACKSON HILL at #2,
KANLER CUMBASS at #3,
BRYAN BARNETT at #4,
HARRISON LABOLLITA at #5 and
ANDREW CHITTY at #6.
Against Emmanuel on the road, the Lions lost a 6-3 match with
ROMAN WEBB and
LUKE WOGOMAN earning a win at #3 doubles 8-1. The other two wins came at #5 and #6 in singles play with Webb and Wogoman accounting for those as well.
