DEMOREST, Ga. - The Piedmont College softball team earned a pair of wins Friday against Wesleyan College thanks to MELISSA ECKMAN's work in the circle. Eckman pitched both complete games earning a pair of wins with a 2-0 shutout and an 8-4 win in game two.

It was a quiet game in game one as neither team scored until the sixth inning when Piedmont managed to score two runs on two hits and one error. Eckman pitched seven innings giving up six hits and walking a pair while striking out three batters.

MARIANN KENNISON was the only Lady Lion to manage two hits in game one as PC had seven hits to the Wolves' six.

Game two saw the Wolves get off to a hot start with four runs in the first inning as all four were unearned following an error in the frame. Piedmont answered back with two runs in the bottom of the first but trailed 4-2 until the fourth inning.

In the fourth inning, the Lady Lion offense came to life scoring six runs on six hits including HANNAH HOBAN claiming the lead for PC with a single up the middle making it 5-4. Wesleyan stranded four runners over the final two innings but were unable to claw back in the contest.
