MARYVILLE, Tenn. – The Piedmont men's tennis team took its second 9-0 win over Maryville this season, as the Lions earned their seventh USA South Athletic Conference win on Good Friday.
The Lions jumped out to an early 3-0 lead after sweeping doubles play. The #3 team of
HARRISON LABOLLITA and
ROMAN WEBB won 8-1 to give Piedmont its first point of the day.
The #2 team of
BRYAN BARNETT and
ANDREW CHITTY cruised to an 8-0 win before
JACKSON HILL and
NATHAN METZGER won the closest match of the day, 8-5 at #1.
The Lions had no issues in singles play as all six singles players won in straight sets.
Webb took the first singles match with a 6-0, 6-1 win at #3 before
CHASE MORRIS won 6-0, 6-2 at #4. Metzger followed with a 6-3, 6-2 win at #1.
DALTON PATTERSON continued the winning as the sophomore won 6-1, 6-0 at #5.
KANLER CUMBASS earned the nod at #2 and took a 6-1, 6-4 victory before
LUKE WOGOMAN closed the day, winning 6-1, 6-1 at #6.

-- The Lions will host Brevard College on Tuesday for a 2:00 p.m. match. Tuesday is also Senior Day for Piedmont.
