DEMOREST, Ga. – ROWAN BUMPASS scored a career-high six goals to lead the Piedmont women's lacrosse team to a 17-7 victory over in-state rival Berry College on a chilly Tuesday night.

In addition to Bumpass' six goals, the Lady Lions received hat-tricks from CASSIDY HEFLIN, EMMA FRANSEN and CAITLIN O'BRIEN.

The first half was low-scoring affair as Piedmont led 5-2 at halftime. The Lady Lions jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first 9:47 of play with goals from Heflin, O'Brien and Bumpass, respectively.

The Vikings answered with 9:31 left before O'Brien and Bumpass found the back of the net again. Berry scored with over two minutes left to cut the lead to three.

Heflin scored four minutes into the second half, but a pair of Berry goals made the score 6-4.

The Lady Lions would take control of the game as Piedmont rattled off six-straight goals to pull ahead 12-4. Berry would end the Piedmont onslaught, but Fransen scored twice to put the game out of reach with 10:30 left.

Berry would pull within eight, but three straight goals by Piedmont would keep the clock running and close the game.
