DEMOREST, Ga. – The Piedmont women's basketball team dropped their final regular season game inside Cave Arena 71-58 to Covenant College on Saturday afternoon.
The game started slow for the Lady Lions as Covenant built a 16-point lead over Piedmont in the opening 8:19 of play. The Scots carried a double-digit lead in the second quarter and led 34-17 with 6:08 remaining in the half.
Piedmont trailed 41-28 at the break.
The Lady Lions were able to pull within eight after an
AMARI PRICE layup in the first 1:08 of the third quarter, but the Scots kept their foot on the throttle and built the lead to 17 with just over a minute to play in the third.
Covenant opened the fourth quarter with a 7-0 run to pull ahead by 21 to put the game out of reach.
Turning Point
-- Trailing 10-6 with 6:52 left in the first quarter, Covenant used a 14-2 run to pull ahead by 16 points. The Lady Lions were never able to recover.
Standout Performances

DAKOTA SULLENS and Price scored 15 points and 14 points respectively. Covenant's Kaley Hallmark had a game-high 22 points and pulled down 10 rebounds.
