BREVARD N.C. – The Piedmont men's tennis team traveled to Brevard College picking up a 9-0 win over the Tornados Tuesday. The Lions dropped just one set on their way to their second straight victory.
The Lions swept through doubles play with
NATHAN METZGER and
JACKSON HILL winning 8-4 at #1 doubles while
ALEXANDER TOMLIN and
SAMUEL NIEBANCK won 8-3 at #2 doubles. The final win in doubles belonged to
HARRISON LABOLLITA and
ANDREW CHITTY 8-1 at #3.
Niebanck was the clincher in singles play with a 6-0, 6-1 win at #5. It took Hill three sets to earn the win at #2 dropping the opening set but coming back to force a third and claiming the tie-breaker.
Standout Performances
--Both Tomlin and LaBollita cruised to 6-0, 6-0 wins in singles play.
