DEMOREST, Ga. – The Piedmont College women's soccer team raced past USA South Athletic Conference opponent Agnes Scott on Saturday as the Lady Lions won 4-0 at the Walker Athletic Complex.
 
Piedmont (9-3-1, 4-0 USA South) controlled the game from start to finish as it outshot the Scotties (3-7-1, 0-4 USA South) 32-7.
 
The Lady Lions broke the scoreless tie in the 12th minute after a CASSIE KIRK shot deflection found VERONICA CAPPAS waiting for the easy tap-in.
 
Piedmont once again found the back of the net in the 38th minute as freshman KATELYN SMITH capitalized off a failed clearance by the Scotties off a Piedmont corner kick. The goal marked Smith's first of her young career.  
 
The Lady Lions went into half with a 2-0 lead and a 14-1 shot advantage. Sophomore keeper MIRANDA MCNALLEY played the first 45 but recorded no saves.
 
ANSLYN STAMPS added to Piedmont's lead in the 58th minute as SARAH WEBER found the junior who was able to beat the goalie to the far right side of the net.
 
Piedmont added its final goal in the 88th minute as AMANDA WEINHART scored her first career goal with a double assist from Weber and Cappas. A header from Cappas found its way to Weber who drove upfield before finding the freshman waiting near the left of the goal.
 
Junior EMILY SKELTON finished the game in goal and made one save.

-- Cappas led all players with six shots and three shots on goal and had one goal and one assist.
-- Weber finished with five shots and two assists. 
-- Kirk had one assist. 

Standout Performances
-- Stamps, Smith and Weinhart each scored their first goals of the season.
