Weber, Ishee Score to Lead Piedmont Past Brevard

DEMOREST, Ga. – Seniors SARAH WEBER and SAMANTHA ISHEE each scored once to lead the Piedmont College women's soccer team to a 2-0 win over USA South Athletic Conference opponent Brevard College on Wednesday night at the Walker Athletic Complex.
 
Weber opened the game with four shots on goal before scoring in the 25th minute to put Piedmont (8-3-1, 3-0-0 USA South) ahead 1-0. The senior received a pass from JAZMIN PENADO and was able to deke the goalie for the score. 
 
Weber finished the game with six shots on goal.
 
The Lady Lions would go into halftime with a 1-0 lead and a three shot advantage (10-7) over the Tornados (7-3-0, 3-1-0 USA South).
 
Both teams battled early in the second half before Ishee netted Piedmont's second goal in the 80th minute. After a Brevard foul on the left side of the 18-yard box, Ishee curled her free kick in for her second goal of the season and to give Piedmont a security goal.
 
Piedmont was able to close out the game for its eighth shutout of the season.
 
Sophomore MIRANDA MCNALLEY played all 90 minutes in goal and finished with three saves.
 
Freshman ALLIE KUZEL had two shots on goal while junior ANSLYN STAMPS took three shots.

-- Bravard's Hannah Weatherall recorded 10 saves.
