SEWANEE, Tenn. – The Piedmont College men's soccer team fell, 1-0, at Sewanee on a rainy Tuesday night in Tennessee.

The Lions (7-4-3) battled to keep the game even until the very end, but the Tigers (7-7-1) finally broke through in the 87th minute on Kyle Johnston's header off a free kick from Alpo Sipila.

The First half was a defensive battle, as neither team was able to generate much offense. Sewanee held an 8-2 shot advantage at the break, but Piedmont goalkeeper CAMERON VERONA made four saves to keep the game scoreless.

The Tigers continued to control the shot count in the second half, getting off 11 shots compared to PC's four.

Verona came up big in the second half as well, making four saves before Johnston's header found the top right corner to decide the contest in favor of Sewanee.
