DEMOREST, Ga. – The Piedmont College women's basketball team faced the Maryville Scots Sunday afternoon dropping a close contest 57-54.
Only down one-point at the halftime break, the Lady Lions struggled to find the hoop in the third quarter as the Scots outscored PC 16-7 during those ten minutes. Maryville would hold a 10-point lead over Piedmont as the third quarter ended 47-37.
In the opening five minutes of the final quarter, Piedmont closed the gap and a 3-point bucket from
JATASIA BAILEY would give the Lady Lions a one point lead with 5:30 remaining.
JALEN DAVIS and
RACHEL IRBY each added to the lead with back-to-back layups to put PC ahead by five. The Scots would lock down defensively and hold off any scoring attempt by Piedmont as Maryville went on an eight-point run to close out the contest 57-54.
Turning Point
--Piedmont was unable to score in the final four minutes of the contest as Maryville mounted the final comeback of the game.

JATASIA BAILEY was the only Lady Lions to score in double-digits as she put up twelve points for PC.
