DEMOREST, Ga. – The Piedmont College women's basketball team was in action Saturday taking on the Hawks of Huntingdon College led by a stand-out performance from sophomore AMARI PRICE who collected a new career-high of 25 points to lead PC to a 64-59 win in Cave Arena.

The Hawks would put in the first basket but their scoring was halted after only scoring eight in the first quarter. The last Huntingdon basket would go in with 4:21 on the clock as Piedmont led by two but it was the Lady Lions who found their zone and scored nine points to close out the first 19-8.

Second quarter action started with DAKOTA SULLENS going to the line and adding two free throws to the PC tally. Just over three minutes into the second quarter, the Hawks closed the gap to six points. Two minutes later, the Lady Lions were up by eleven thanks in part to a long three from JALEN DAVIS. Piedmont would close out the half scoring seven more to the Hawks four to go into the break ahead 37-25.

BRIDGETTE KELLY and RACHEL IRBY combined for a quick five points to come back from halftime. The Hawks would mount a comeback late in the third going on a seven point run to close out the quarter with Piedmont leading 48-42.

The Huntingdon run would spill over into the fourth as they notched four more in the first two-minutes of the final quarter. Piedmont's final seven points came from the charity stripe as they kept the Hawks at bay winning the USA South match-up 64-59.
