DEMOREST, Ga. - Freshman Jordan Foote's hands were the difference for the Piedmont men's basketball team as Foote grabbed a rebound for the final shot with a put-back layup to seal a 70-68 victory over LaGrange Wednesday night. Foote's rebound came off a missed fade-away jumper by LANDRY ASSINESI with two seconds on the clock with Foote's putback falling with 0.9 seconds remaining.

The Lions led by as many as five in the final five minutes of the game, but with 17 seconds to play, LaGrange's Stephen Wagner drained a 3-pointer to tie the contest at 68. The Lions drove the court with Assinesi taking one of his patented fade-away jumpers in front of the Piedmont bench, but it was Foote who would take the final shot for the game-winner.

Piedmont controlled the contest almost entirely as LaGrange had the lead just once with a jumper 26 seconds into the game to lead 2-1. The Lions built the lead to as many as 14 leading 44-30 at the break.

The Panthers had a 12-2 run to start the second half to make it 46-42 and from that point on it was never more than an eight-point game. Over the final five minutes of the game, neither team made a shot from the floor until inside 20 seconds to play when LaGrange banked a 3-pointer and Foote sealed the win for Piedmont.

The win moved Piedmont to 3-2 in USA South play and 5-6 overall.
