DEMOREST, Ga. – The Piedmont College women's basketball team took down the Wolves of Wesleyan College scoring early and often to take the home contest 75-31. The Piedmont defense held the Wolves to their lowest point total of the season as the Lady Lions moved to 13-3 overall and 5-2 in league play.

Piedmont took a 7-2 lead four minutes into the game on a CARLIE SHIELDS 3-pointer, but the Wolves came back to knot it up at seven all after PC went cold from the floor with a 3:30 scoreless stretch. The Lady Lions would leave no doubt though to close out the first period with a 12-0 run including a pair of 3's by BRIDGETTE KELLY and Shields.

With a 19-7 lead to start the second, it was once again a dry spell from the floor as Piedmont scored just once before the 5:03 mark when BRITTANY WALKER made a layup. That sparked the PC offensive attack as the Lady Lions scored eight to end the quarter and took a 32-15 lead to the half.

The third quarter was once again where the Piedmont offense showed out as the Lady Lions put up 25 points to the Wolves' 10. Walker, who led all scorers with 11 points, put up seven of hers in the fourth quarter as Piedmont outscored the Wolves 43-16 in the second half.

Turning Point
--The two teams were tied at seven with 3:30 to play in the first quarter but a 12-0 run for the Lady Lions to close out the period gave them a 19-7 lead after the first.

Standout Performances
--BRITTANY WALKER led all scorers notching a double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds.

Inside the Box Score
--This is the lowest scoring game for the Wolves this season as Piedmont's defense held them to single digit scoring in all but the third quarter.

News & Notes
--The Lady Lions are now a perfect 21-0 against the Wolves in the NCAA era since their first meeting in 2004.

Up Next
--Piedmont is in action on Tuesday at Agnes Scott to take on the Scotties at 6:30 p.m.
