ATLANTA – Senior TORI GILLETT scored in the 54th minute to lead the Piedmont women's soccer team to a 1-0 non-conference win over Oglethorpe on Thursday afternoon. Piedmont improves to 7-0-2 for the season.

The Lady Lions controlled the pace all game and finished with a 29-5 shot advantage. The Piedmont defense held Oglethorpe to one shot in the second half.

Gillett's goal came after a CASSIE KIRK shot was deflected by an Oglethorpe defender. The Lady Lions had several opportunities to add to the lead but couldn't connect.

CASSIDY REICH had a game-high 11 shots while SAVANNAH CASTLES and JAZMIN PENADO each took four shots.

Freshman keeper MIRANDA MCNALLEY finished with two saves and recorded her fifth shutout of the season.

-- Tied 0-0, Gillett scored to give the Lady Lions a 1-0 lead.  

Standout Performances
-- CASSIDY REICH finished with 11 shots and three shots on goal.
-- The defense allowed five shots (four in the first half, one in the second half).

-- Piedmont wraps up its SAA schedule with a 4-0-2 record.

-- PC travels to Decatur, Ga. on Saturday to take on USA South Athletic Conference opponent Agnes Scott for a 2 p.m. start. The Lady Lions won 3-0 against the Scotties earlier in the season.
