ATLANTA – Senior
TORI GILLETT scored in the 54th minute to lead the Piedmont women's soccer team to a 1-0 non-conference win over Oglethorpe on Thursday afternoon. Piedmont improves to 7-0-2 for the season.
The Lady Lions controlled the pace all game and finished with a 29-5 shot advantage. The Piedmont defense held Oglethorpe to one shot in the second half.
Gillett's goal came after a
CASSIE KIRK shot was deflected by an Oglethorpe defender. The Lady Lions had several opportunities to add to the lead but couldn't connect.
CASSIDY REICH had a game-high 11 shots while
SAVANNAH CASTLES and
JAZMIN PENADO each took four shots.
Freshman keeper
MIRANDA MCNALLEY finished with two saves and recorded her fifth shutout of the season.
