DEMOREST, Ga. – Ten months after losing 4-1 in the NCAA Tournament to Centre College, the Lady Lions fought hard on Sunday afternoon and played to a 0-0 draw against the Colonels in front of a vocal crowd at the Walker Athletic Complex.
Centre controlled the ball for most of the first half and went into the break with an 8-1 shot advantage over the Lady Lions.
PC played the Colonels even in the second, managing two shots to Centre's five.
SARAH WEBER nearly put Piedmont on the board in the 75th minute with a header, but the Centre keeper was there to make the stop. Centre took three shots in the final eight minutes of play, but all missed the goal.
Freshman keeper
MIRANDA MCNALLEY made two saves in extra time and recorded her fourth shutout of the season.
CASSIDY REICH took three shots while
JAZMIN PENADO and Weber each had one shot on goal.
