Demorest, GA - The Piedmont College women's lacrosse team picked up its third victory of the season behind a three goal performance for CAITLIN O'BRIEN as the Lady Lions defeated Otterbein 12-6. O'Brien led the team with three goals and a trio of Lady Lions also added two goals each. 

Piedmont jumped out to a 4-0 lead after scoring just 34 seconds into the contest as ROWAN BUMPASS netted the first goal of the game followed by O'Brien tacking on her first goal in a man up opportunity. JULIANNA SURGENT and JENNA SMITH both scored in that 4-0 opening stretch for Piedmont as Bumpass, Surgent and Smith would each add another in the contest. 

The Lady Lions led 7-3 in the first half as neither team scored in the final 9:40 of the opening period and it was the Cardinals who struck first in the second half cutting the lead to 7-4. Piedmont answered back with three straight scores to extend the lead to 10-4. FRANCESCA MALABAD added the final score of the afternoon with 7:56 to play for her third goal of the season. 

BLAKE FORREST earned the win giving up three goals and making three saves while MATTIE KEATON played the second half in the cage and made five saves. O'Brien has 13 goals this season while Bumpass is hot on her heels with 12.

Turning Point
--A four goal lead to start the contest put PC out in front for good setting the tone for the remainder of the contest. 

Standout Performances
--CAITLIN O'BRIEN led the team with three goals scored in the contest to go with four ground balls. 
--ROWAN BUMPASS, JULIANNA SURGENT and JENNA SMITH all scored a pair of goals in the contest. 

Inside the Box Score
--The Lady Lions never trailed in the contest after scoring four straight to begin the game. 

News & Notes
--This marked the season opener for Otterbein as they begin a spring break trip in Georgia.
