Demorest, GA -  With an 81-59 victory over Covenant College Friday night, the Piedmont College women's basketball team moved to 11-0 on the court inside Cave Arena in 2016-17. Piedmont's perfection will be put to the final test Saturday taking on Maryville on senior day for the Lady Lions.

Piedmont trailed 5-0 to open the contest before going on a 9-2 run to take the lead 9-7 on a BRIDGETTE KELLY 3-pointer. Kelly hit another 3-pointer on a fastbreak thanks to a steal by AMARI PRICE and Carlie Shields tacked on one more from behind the arc to end the quarter putting PC ahead 18-15. 

It was still only a three point advantage for Piedmont with 3:52 to go until the half, but the Lady Lions roared back with an eight point run to take an 11 point lead and led by 11 38-27 at the half. 

Piedmont used a 15-0 run to open the second half to take a 26-point lead 53-27 with 5:34 to play in the third quarter. The Scots cut the lead to 17 trailing 59-42 to end the third quarter with PC outscoring them 21-15 in the third quarter. 

The Lady Lions closed out the fourth quarter outscoring the Scots 22-17 to win by 22 points. Piedmont moves to 11-0 inside Cave Arena as BRIDGETTE KELLY scored 15 to lead PC while three others scored in double figures. 

Turning Point
--With under four minutes to go in the second quarter and only a three point lead for Piedmont, the Lady Lions outscored the Scots 13-7 in the closing minutes of the half extending their lead to 11. 

Standout Performances
--BRIDGETTE KELLY went 4-of-7 from three point land marking 12 of her 15 points on the night from beyond the arc. 
--Three other Lady Lions notched double digits in the scoring column in DAKOTA SULLENS (12), AMARI PRICE (11), and CARLIE SHIELDS (11). 

Inside the Box Score
--PC found no issue with pushing the ball to the paint as they put up 44 points from the inside. 

News & Notes
--After leading by only three at the end of the first, the Lady Lions scored more points in the the following quarters than the Scots put up in the game.
