DEMOREST, Ga. – The Piedmont College women's basketball team was in action in Cave Arena against the Pride of Greensboro College in the first day of the Cancer Awareness Tournament, the Lady Lions took the contest 90-68.
Trailing 41-35 after the halftime break, the Lady Lions had some work to do to battle back from a 5-point second quarter. The lead would change in favor of PC with just under three minutes to play in the third as
BRITTANY WALKER would score two points in the paint.
The highlight of the contest came from a thirty second window as
AMARI PRICE hit a three, Price would stop the Pride at mid-court and find
JATASIA BAILEY for on the fast break. This was followed by Price again getting the steal and the score to put Piedmont up by seven with less than a minute in the quarter. Each team would add on in the last thirty second but PC would lead 61-53.
BRIDGETTE KELLY would start the final ten minutes of play with a three pointer and
CARLIE SHIELDS would knock down a jumper 12-seconds later. With over six minutes left on the clock, Piedmont would go on an eight point run from five made free throws and a long three from
JATASIA BAILEY. The Lady Lions would outscore Greensboro 29-15 in the final quarter as they would go on to win 90-68 over the Pride.
Turning Point
--After scoring just five points in the second quarter, the Lady Lions got it in gear in the second half scoring 55 points in the second half while holding Greensboro to just 27.
Standout Performances
--
AMARI PRICE led all-scorers with 17 points while Piedmont had five scorers in double figures.
Inside the Box Score
--The Lady Lions put up 20 points in the paint in the third quarter alone.

--Piedmont improves to 9-1 this season with a perfect 2-0 record at home extending their home unbeaten streak to 15-0.
