MOUNT BERRY, Ga. - The Piedmont College women's basketball team finished the USA South/SAA Classic with a win over host team Berry College 82-62.

The Lady Lions started on fire going on an early nine point run to go up 9-1 in the opening two minutes of play. The Vikings were unable to compete with the lead the Lady Lions created only getting within three points of PC in the opening quarter. The scoring had just begun for Piedmont as they would score 27 points in the first quarter to Berry's 15.

A five point run would put Berry back within seven before Brittany Walker would put in a free throw to start the scoring for Piedmont. In what was a low scoring quarter for both teams, Piedmont's Jatasia Bailey would knock down a three pointer in the final minute to give the Lady Lions the 35-23 advantage going into the halftime break.

The third quarter was once again led off by the Vikings outscoring PC 8-2 in the first three minutes of the second half. Amari Price would score the bucket and draw the foul for the three point play to stop the scoring for Berry. Kristen Campbell would get one from the line with 23 seconds left as PC ended the third period up 52-40.

Piedmont's lead would hold for the final quarter as the Lady Lions would put in 30 points in the final quarter to take the road win over Berry 82-62.

Turning Point
--The Lady Lions big 27-point opening quarter would hold off the Vikings as they were unable to battle back after PC went up less than a minute into the game. 

Standout Performances
--BRIDGETTE KELLY gathered a season high 19-points going 6-7 from the floor, 5-6 from three point land, and 2-2 at the line. 
--DAKOTA SULLENS put up 16 points of her own followed closely by Amari Price with 14.

Inside the Box Score
--The Lady Lions had eight different scorers in the 30 point showing during the fourth quarter. 

News & Notes
--Piedmont is now 5-3 against the Vikings with the two teams competing every year since 2011.

--Piedmont is on the road in Atlanta against the Eagles of Emory University on November 30 with a 6:00 p.m. tip off.
