DEMOREST, Ga. – The Piedmont women's soccer team stepped out of conference on Thursday and took a 6-0 win over Toccoa Falls at the Walker Athletic Complex. Senior
COURTNEY BELL scored a hat-trick in the win.
The Lady Lions wasted no time in Thursday's game with
SARAH WEBER scoring in the fifth minute of play off an assist from
CASSIDY REICH. Weber had a good look just a minute before but the sailed the shot wide. The junior finished with a game-high seven shots.
TORI GILLETT found
ABBY COX in the 13th minute before picking up her second assist in the 26th minute after finding Bell for her first of three goals. Over four minutes later,
NATALIE MUNOZ found Bell to give Piedmont a comfortable 4-0 lead.
Bell finished her scoring for the night in the 38th minute after another Reich assist and the Lady Lions led 5-0 at halftime.
Piedmont outshot Toccoa Falls 24-2 at the break and also took three corner kicks.
The Lady Lions didn't stop their offensive attack and took 17 shots in the second half, with eight being on goal.
SAMANTHA ISHEE sealed the scoring after tapping the ball in the net off a Toccoa Falls defensive breakdown.

EMILY SKELTON split time in goal and each recorded one save.
Standout Performances
-- Bell came off the bench to record the hat-trick tonight off four shots.
-- Weber took seven shots while Ishee recorded six.
-- Piedmont totaled 41 shots while Toccoa Falls managed five shots.

-- Piedmont has a 38-5 goal differential for the season.
-- Of the five goals allowed his season, only one was given up at the Walker Athletic Complex.
