Lady Lions Take 4-0 Conference Win at LaGrange

LAGRANGE, Ga. – The Piedmont women's soccer team extended its win streak to five games on Tuesday with a 4-0 USA South Athletic Conference win over in-state rival LaGrange College.

With the win, the Lady Lions have gone 13 games this season without a loss, setting a program record for a single season since joining the NCAA in 2003. In 2013 and 2015, PC had streaks of 12 games without a loss.

SAMANTHA ISHEE led the Lady Lions with two goals in the match. The junior scored the game's first goal in the 12th minute to give Piedmont an early 1-0 lead.

Less than five minutes later, freshman ABBY COX scored her first collegiate goal with a NATALIE MUNOZ assist to give Piedmont a 2-0 lead going into the break. PC took 10 shots in the first half while taking seven corner kicks.  

Ishee would go on to score her second goal of the game with an assist from CASSIDY REICH in the 57th minute before MADELINE MCCARTHY scored her first collegiate goal in the 81st to seal the win.

The defense controlled the game for Piedmont and allowed zero shots. This marks the second time this season the Lady Lions have held the opposing team to zero shots and sixth time holding the opposing team to five or fewer shots.

-- Piedmont scored twice in the first half to cruise to a 4-0 victory.
 
Inside the Box Score
-- The Lady Lions took 17 shots (nine on goal) while holding the Panthers to zero shots.
-- The shutout is the eighth shutout recorded by Piedmont this season.

-- The women's soccer team returns home on Thursday as Toccoa Falls makes the trip to Demorest. Gametime is set for 7 p.m. at the Walker Athletic Complex.
