Location: Decatur, Georgia - Agnes Scott College

Decatur, GA - The Piedmont College women's basketball team once again used a third quarter surge to put the game out of reach winning 62-36 over Agnes Scott Sunday. The Lady Lions have now won seven in row to move to 9-1 in conference play and 16-5 overall.

The Scotties jumped out to an eight point lead in the early going with Head Coach Jamie Purdy calling a timeout two and half minutes in to regroup the Lady Lions. Piedmont kicked it in gear after the first five minutes of play scoring 12 unanswered to go up by four and led 16-12 at the end of the first quarter.

After allowing eight points over the first 2:10 of the game, Piedmont's defense was stifling allowing the Scotties just 10 points in the final 17:50 till the half. Agnes Scott was held to just six points in the second quarter and the Lady Lions once again kept them to six in the third period.

Piedmont led 30-18 at the half and scored 20 in the third quarter to distance themselves from the Scotties and seal the victory. A 13-0 run through the majority of the third quarter gave PC a 26-point lead 48-22.

The Lady Lions scored all but two of their buckets from behind the arc in the fourth quarter as ANICKA CEPHAS, JALEN DAVIS and KELLY ACKERMAN all connected from downtown. CARLY SALES and JATASIA BAILEY led the way with 10 points each while Davis added nine and BRIANNA BARRETT scored seven.

Turning Point
--The Lady Lions continued their dominance out of the locker room at the half as they outscored the Scotties 20-6 in the third quarter as the third period has been one of the Lady Lions' most successful periods throughout the season.

Standout Performances
--Jatasia Bailey tied for a team-high 10 points with CARLY SALES as Bailey was 2-for-4 from 3-point range and made both her other attempts from the floor.

Inside the Box Score
--The Scotties' Garis Grant led all scorers with 21 points in the contest accounting for all but 15 points for Agnes Scott.

News & Notes
--Piedmont held Agnes Scott to exactly 36 points in both meetings this season while scoring just one point different themselves winning 61-36 at home and 62-36 on the road.
