Demorest, GA - After being at home for four straight games, the Lady Lions began a five-game road stretch picking up a 93-66 victory over Salem College Wednesday. Piedmont totaled the most 3-pointers in a game all season against the Spirits draining 15 shots from behind the arc. 

The Lady Lions were hot from deep early in the contest connecting on 5-of-6 3-pointers in the first quarter taking a 30-22 lead into the second quarter. BRIANNA BARRETT scored nine of her 15 points in the first quarter as she was perfect from 3-point range and 3-of-4 from the floor. 

A 3-pointer by JATASIA BAILEY with 9:08 to play till the half gave Piedmont its largest lead to that point at 13 points, but the Spirits had a run to cut it to a six point game 36-30 with six minutes to play. Salem got it down to a five point game with 2:52 to play till the break on a 3-pointer by Mikayla Seivers but Piedmont would stretch it back to an eight point game at the half 48-40. 

Piedmont had an impressive 13-2 run to open the third quarter ballooning their lead to 19 on a 3-pointer by ERIN CLIFFORD. Two minutes later, Clifford would again connect from deep knocking down another triple to make the lead an even 20 at 64-44. 

The Lady Lions were again electric from downtown as they hit six 3-pointers in the third quarter, outscoring the Spirits 27-9. All but two buckets from the floor came from 3-point range for Piedmont in the third quarter.

Piedmont secured its largest lead of the game at 29 points when Bailey hit another 3-pointer to open the fourth quarter leading 78-49. The Spirits went on a 17-2 run over the fourth quarter but the deficit was too great to overcome as the Lady Lions won 93-66. 

 Turning Point
--The Lady Lions led 48-40 at the half and continued to stretch out their lead with an impressive 13-2 run to open the third quarter to lead by 19 points 61-42. 

Standout Performances
--Three players scored 15 points each for Piedmont as BRIANNA BARRETT, CARLIE SHIELDS and DAKOTA SULLENS all contributed 15. 

Inside the Box Score
--Piedmont outscored the Spirits 27-9 in the third quarter. 

News & Notes
--The Lady Lions added 20 points from the free throw line as the Spirits had just eight points from the charity stripe.

--Piedmont heads to Wesleyan College Saturday to face the Wolves with tipoff set for 2:00 p.m. in Macon.
