Demorest, GA - The Lady Lions remained perfect at home Saturday taking a 64-55 victory over USA South opponent Wesleyan College to improve to 3-1 in conference play.

The Lady Lions were quick off the tip off going on an early five point run against the Wolves. The quick lead was short lived as Wesleyan battled back and tied the game up at 9 with just over 2 minutes in the quarter. CARLY SALES would go to the line and hit her two from the charity stripe followed by ABBEY CRAVEN hitting a layup in the final 20 seconds to close out the first quarter with PC leading 13-12.

After a scoreless two minutes, the Wolves struck from deep to take the lead in the second. Wesleyan would continue growing their lead to seven points before PC would regroup and go on an 8 point run to close out the half on top 28-27 highlighted by back-to-back lay ups by CARLY SALES as she pushed to a double-double on the night.

The shooters of the Lady Lions would heat up midway through the third going on a 10 point run to gain the lead with JALEN DAVIS and JATASIA BAILEY exchanging threes 30 seconds apart. The Wolves remained in the fight cutting Piedmont's lead to three as the quarter ended 45-42.

The fourth quarter was a battle between the two teams, but with the Lady Lions leading by six with just over seven to play, Cave Arena blacked out as the power shorted causing a short delay in action. A six point run ending around the three minute mark would give the Lady Lions enough space to hold off the Wolves as Piedmont led by seven 57-50. The Wolves would pull as close as two points, but the Lady Lions closed out the contest scoring the final seven points of the game. 

Turning Point
-- The Lady Lions put up a defensive stand in the final quarter of play holding the Wolves to only 13 points to PC's 19. This was capped off by a seven point run for Piedmont in the final 1:30 in the game. 

Standout Performances
--CARLIE SHIELDS posted the most points for the Lady Lions connecting for 13 points in the contest with 11 coming in the second half of the game. 
--CARLY SALES notched a double-double in the game with 11 points and 10 rebounds against the Wolves.  

Inside the Box Score
--PC was able to work the ball into the paint in the game against Wesleyan putting up 34 points from the paint to the 10 managed by the Wolves. 

News & Notes
--This win in Cave Arena puts the Lady Lions to 7-0 at home in Demorest and moves them to 3-1 against USA South opponents.
