Early Inning Offense Powers Piedmont Past MIT 17-6 in Mid-Week Affair

Need to Know
Score: Piedmont 17, MIT 6
Records: Lions 16-9 (3-6 USA South), MIT 2-6
Location: Demorest, Georgia - Loudermilk Field

Demorest, GA - Piedmont picked up 14 runs in the first three innings to soar part visiting Massachusetts Institute of Technology earlier Wednesday evening 17-6.

The win evened the two-game season series between the two after the Engineers held on for a 3-2 win the night prior despite a two-out rally from Piedmont in the 9th.

The Lions picked up a quality outing from SETH GEORGE who made his first start of the season Wednesday evening after coming out of the pen earlier in the year.  George went four innings giving up just three hits without allowing an earned run.

Piedmont gave George plenty of run support with four in the first before breaking it wide open in the 2nd with nine runs total led by GRIFFIN OLSON who picked up two RBI singles in the one inning.  Four walks with bases loaded and a hit-by-pitch also contributed to the 9-run 2nd that sealed the deal for PC early.
