Demorest, GA - The Lions of Piedmont College fell to Birmingham-Southern College 13-6 earlier Friday evening in men's lacrosse action at Walker Athletic Complex with the Panthers using a big 2nd quarter to distance themselves in the contest.

Piedmont held the Panthers to just three scores in the first period trailing 3-1 entering the 2nd, but Birmingham-Southern started fast scoring three goals in the opening minutes before finishing the period with seven goals total to hold a 10-2 lead at the break.

BSC would add three more to the lead in the 3rd, but Piedmont continued to battle scoring four goals in the 4th while holding the visitors scoreless to chip into the advantage.  However, it was not enough in the end for the home team who suffered a 7-goal loss at home.

The Lions were led by veteran BRANSON MIKELL and youngster DEVON PHILLIPS on the scoresheet as each tallied a pair of scores on the evening.  Four different Lions scored in the 4th and final quarter including senior TAYLOR CARTER and sophomore BRITT KENNEDY whose goal to open the fourth came in a man-up situation for PC.
