Demorest, GA - The Piedmont College women's basketball team took to Cave Arena for the Cancer Awareness Tournament against Meredith College Thursday evening winning the contest 93-48.

In the first quarter, PC was hot off the tip off as BRIDGETTE KELLY knocked down a long bomb for three points after only six seconds had ticked away. A five point run to end the quarter would put PC ahead 24-13.

BRIDGETTE KELLY and BRIANNA BARRETT hit back-to-back threes to start the second quarter. Echoed quickly by long different efforts from ERIN CLIFFORD and JATASIA BAILEY with only two Avenging Angels points between.

The defense was on point during the first half forcing 14 turnovers compared to the 2 by PC helping Piedmont end the quarter holding Meredith to only six points the halftime score posted at 46-19.

Several small runs in PC scoring would kept the pressure on Meredith College as PC would end the third quarter 74-29.

Meredith sparked in the fourth scoring even with PC at 19 in the period but it was too little too late as Piedmont took the contest 93-48.  

Turning Point
--The Lady Lions nearly doubled the Avenging Angels in every quarter until the fourth giving them the substantial lead early in the contest. 

Standout Performances
--DAKOTA SULLENS led PC in points putting in 14 going 60% (6 of 10) form the floor while also tallying four steals in the game.
--Meredith's Amy Rhoney posted a double-double in the game with 10 rebounds and 19 points.

Inside the Box Score
--Piedmont was hot from distance in the second quarter going 62.5% from 3-pt land totaling nine in the first half alone. 
--The Piedmont bench points were equal to the total points made by the Avenging Angels at 48. 
 
News & Notes
--The contest versus Meredith College is not considered part of USA South Conference play due to the new division alignment PC leads total contests against Meredith 5-1.
