Rocky Mount, NC - The Piedmont College men's soccer team ended the 2016 season with a loss in the first round of the USA South tournament to #2 seed N.C. Wesleyan 4-0. The Lions finished with their best record since 2010 posting an 8-9-1 overall record this season.
The Battling Bishops got on the board in the 13th minute with a goal by Jordan Davis followed by a goal in the 37th minute by Alex Andrade making it 2-0 at the break. Piedmont's first shot on goal came off the foot of
CULLEN COPLAND in the 38th minute but was saved by Alex Magner.
CHASE KANE had the other shot on goal for the Lions but again Magner got the save in the 53rd minute. The final two scores came in the 63rd and 66th minutes including a goal by A.J. Wadda, his ninth of the season as he leads N.C. Wesleyan.
The Battling Bishops advance to face Greensboro College in the quarterfinals of the USA South tournament.

--ELLIOT SAILES started his fourth contest of the season with four saves Sunday.
