Decatur, GA - It was an offensive display for KATELYN DURMIRE and the Piedmont College volleyball team earlier Saturday as the Lady Lions swept Agnes Scott College on the road 3-0 in a regular season finale for both. 

With Agnes Scott's loss in the weekend match-up to Piedmont, Salem climbs into the #6 seed spot and will face the Lady Lions on Tuesday, November 1 at 5:00 pm in Maryville, Tennessee. 

Piedmont took the opening set 25-19 to take a lead before an impressive performance in the second set by the team and middle KATELYN DURMIRE who collected nine of her match-best 16 kills in the set to help PC take a 25-16 decision going up 2-0.

The third was a 25-18 winner for Piedmont who closed out their 6th straight sets win in conference on the 2016 season.  

Turning Point
--A dominant offensive performance in the second set as Piedmont hit .448 as a team to overtake the hosting Scotties.

Standout Performances
--KATELYN DURMIRE is the obvious choice in this category with 16 kills on just 21 attemps without an error for a .762 attack percentage.  
--HALEY HIXON and ANNA WRIGHT both had double-digit digs with Hixon's 17 that led the team and Wright piling on 10 to the cause. 

Inside the Box Score
--Nine of KATELYN DURMIRE's 16 kills came in the second set as part of an extremely strong performance on the attack that catapulted PC to the sweep. 
--Piedmont had 11 aces on the match, the 13th time that PC has posted double-digit aces in a single match.  

News & Notes
--Piedmont finishes the regular season with 18 wins, the same as in 2015, with the Lady Lions falling in the USA South Quarterfinals to Meredith.  

Up Next
Tuesday's opening of the USA South Championship Tournament with the 1st Round and Quarterfinals both taking place on November 1.  Piedmont will travel to Maryville, Tennessee to face Salem College at 5:00 pm with the winner earning the right to move on and face Maryville later that same evening.
