Lookout Mountain, GA - The Piedmont College women's basketball team turned in one of the more dominating performances this season so far earlier Tuesday night in a 70-46 win over Covenant College in USA South play.

The contest was a return to league play after four games out of conference action as Piedmont improves to 3-0 in USA South action with the victory.

Piedmont was in charge from the beginning outscoring Covenant 38-14 in the first half alone holding the Scots to just 19% shooting from the floor in the opening 20 minutes.  Covenant did not hit any of its four three-point tries in the first half as Piedmont put a stranglehold on defensively forcing 25 turnovers on the evening against the Scots.

With the game in hand before the intermission, Piedmont picked up 8 second-half points from senior LE'SHAUNDA JONES who didn't miss from the field in the final two quarters.  The win sends Piedmont into a three-game home-stand with William Peace coming on Saturday to Cave Arena, a spot where the Lady Lions carry a 3-0 record this season.

Turning Point
--Piedmont began the night on a 32-9 run dominating the Scots from the beginning as Covenant did not break double digits on the scoreboard until under four minutes remained in the first half.

Standout Performances
--LE'SHAUNDA JONES posted 17 points on an incredible 7-of-9 shooting performance, but it was her defense that set the tone as she collected five steals tying her season high in that category.
--TAYLOR SWOSZOWSKI was Piedmont's second player scoring in double figures collecting a dozen points on an impressive 5-of-8 night from the floor hitting on both three-point tries.

Inside the Box Score
--Tonight was the second time in a row that Jones collected five steals in a single game also doing so against Hanover.
--Piedmont's bench was strong again tonight outscoring the Scots' reserves 31-3 on a well-balanced offensive night.

News & Notes
--The win over Covenant gives Piedmont its third straight 3-0 start to USA South play as the Lady Lions also won their first three conference contests in 2013-14 and 2014-15.
--Piedmont is now 7-1 in its last eight contests this season.
