Need to KnowScore: Piedmont 3 - Brewton-Parker 0Records: Lady Lions 4-2, Barons 1-3Location: Demorest, GA - Cave ArenaDemorest, GA - In the 2015 home opener, the Piedmont College Lady Lions shone bright in the spotlight in a dominating 3-0 win against Brewton-Parker. Piedmont did not allow the Barons more than 17 points in any set and used a powerful hitting performance by senior MALLORY LEARY to down the Barons.
Leary was impressive in her Cave Arena debut for her senior season as she posted 11 kills and a .667 attack percentage. The senior star had six kills in the opening set in which Piedmont won 25-11 behind a .520 team attack percentage and holding the Barons to a mere five kills and six errors.
EMILY PETERS and MADDISON SCRUGGS split the majority of the assists as Peters had 18 while Scruggs recorded 10. HALEY HIXON led the way with 8 digs while TAYLOR CRAMSEY added six digs and four kills.The pair of seniors for the Lady Lions in Cramsey and Leary are one and two respectively in kills so far this season as Cramsey has 51 through six matches and Leary posts 42 total after her 11 kill performance Tuesday night.
Turning Point-The Lady Lions stepped on the gas early posting an 11-1 run to finish the first set and set the tone for the match allowing just five kills in the opening set (25-11).
Standout Performances-
MALLORY LEARY had a stellar night with 11 kills on 16 attempts for a .667 attack percentage.

AMANDA TROTTER & Leary both posted 3 blocks on the night.
Inside the Box Score-The Lady Lions held the Barons to a negative attack percentage in the first two sets of the match while only allowing a .133 in the final set.
-Piedmont had 10 aces in the match but only surrendered one to Brewton-Parker.
-Trotter not only had three blocks but also added 7 kills, good for second best behind Leary.
News & Notes-The Lady Lions are 6-1 in home openers under Head Volleyball Coach Sid Feldman during his career at Piedmont with the only loss coming in his first season with Piedmont.
-Brewton-Parker has never won against Piedmont during the NCAA era.Up NextPiedmont returns to the road for another tournament this weekend, just down the road in Atlanta at Emory University. Piedmont will face three teams over two days with their first match coming against Lakeland College on Saturday and matches against Birmingham-Southern and Johns Hopkins on Sunday.
