Wesleyan. The first conference competition of the year was a thriller for Piedmont including several impressive individual performances.
The Lady Lions won the second, fourth and fifth sets against the Pacers in a 13-25, 26-24, 21-25, 25-16, 15-9 decision. After struggling early, Piedmont found its rhythm and rolled to a five set victory to snap a four match losing streak.
TAYLOR CRAMSEY posted 22 kills and 23 digs in the first match of the day while Piedmont had 58 overall. EMILY PETERS dominated the assists with 51 of the team's 57 assists while HALEY HIXON had 24 digs.
Piedmont won in four sets against the Battling Bishops to finish the day 2-0 and even their record out to 6-6 overall and go to 2-0 in the USA South.Turning Point--Piedmont took the fourth set from William Peace in dominant fashion and finished the Pacers off in the fifth set by maintaining that momentum.
Standout Performances--
TAYLOR CRAMSEY recorded 22 kills against the Pacers, just three shy of the NCAA era record of 25 kills with an impressive double-double of 22 kills and 23 digs.

EMILY PETERS had 51 assists in the match against William Peace taking all but six for Piedmont.

KATELYN DURMIRE had six blocks in the Pacers match, more than Piedmont has had in seven of the 11 games so far this season.

--The Lady Lions begin 2-0 in the USA South as one of four teams to begin undefeated in conference play as of Saturday afternoon.Coach's Corner"We won in five, and I thought we were a bit lucky to get out of there with a win. They (William Peace) played awesome defense, they were all over the place against us. I thought heading into the match, our chances of coming away with a win were good but they made us battle for every point we earned. But we finally stepped up to the challenge especially in the fourth and fifth set where we won handily, but it took a lot of work to get there."
