Atlanta, GA - The Piedmont College Volleyball team was unable to take a set at the Emory Classic dropping another pair of contests Saturday 3-0 to Birmingham-Southern and Johns Hopkins. The Lady Lions struggled on the attack in both contests with only 18 kills against the Panthers and just 10 against the Blue Jays.

Piedmont was within two points of taking a set from the Panthers in their opening game of the day with the first set going 25-23, but Piedmont was unable to rebound dropping the next two sets 25-12 and 25-17. Against the Blue Jays, Piedmont was not able to keep it close with the match going 25-13, 25-15 and 25-17.

Against the Panthers, Piedmont allowed 43 kills while recording 18 but only managed 10 to the Blue Jays 40 kills. The Lady Lions did have seven aces against Birmingham-Southern while only allowing the Panthers four. 

Turning Point
--The Lady Lions posted a negative attack percentage in each of Saturday's matches.

Standout Performances
--EMILY PETERS had a double double against the Panthers with 16 assists and 12 digs.
--MALLORY LEARY led the way against Birmingham-Southern with six kills.
--KATELYN DURMIRE had two kills on her three attempts against the Blue Jays.

Inside the Box Score
--The Lady Lions had a negative attack percentage against both opponents Saturday with a -.043 against Birmingham-Southern and a -0.13 against Johns Hopkins.
--Piedmont surrendered a total of 83 kills Saturday while only having 28 of their own.

News & Notes
--The Lady Lions have yet to win a game against Birmingham-Southern as their defeat makes them 0-5 all time against the Panthers.
--This was the first meeting against the Blue Jays for Piedmont.

Up Next
Piedmont returns to Cave Arena on Tuesday night to play host to Truett-McConnell College at 6:30 p.m. The Bears are 2-4 this season with their last victory coming 3-0 against Toccoa Falls College, a team the Lady Lions also swept.
