Lookout Mountain, GA - The Lady Lions' season came to an end Friday evening with a close call in the quarterfinals against Meredith losing 3-2. Piedmont fought back from a 2-0 deficit to even the score at 2-2 but came up just three points shy of winning and advancing. 

The Avenging Angels took the first set 25-23 before winning the second 25-20 to take a commanding 2-0 lead. Piedmont was not ready to give up, however, as they fought back to take the third set 25-22 and the fourth set 25-19. 

In the fifth set, Piedmont trailed 12-6 but came back to make it 14-12 before a service error by the Lady Lions ended the rally handing the Avenging Angels the 15-12 win and sending them forward in the tournament. 

TAYLOR CRAMSEY had another outstanding outing in her final night in the Green and Gold with 16 kills and 15 digs for a double-double. AMANDA TROTTER was second on the squad with 14 while MALLORY LEARY ended her career with 7 kills.

Turning Point
--Piedmont fell behind by six points in the fifth set and could not come back to take the deciding set. 

Standout Performance
--Cramsey posted a double-double in her final outing for Piedmont with 16 kills and 15 digs. 
--The senior's 16 kills give her 308 for her senior season, leading Piedmont. 

Inside the Box Score
--Piedmont out-hit Meredith .132 to .084 as the Lady Lions had just 26 errors while Meredith had 42.

News & Notes
--Piedmont ends the season at 18-15 overall while going 9-7 in the USA South in Head Coach Sid Feldman's 7th season with the Lady Lions.
