Need to KnowScore: Piedmont 1 - Ferrum 2Records: Lions 4-9-3 (2-6-1 USA South), Panthers 5-11 (3-6 USA South)Location: Ferrum, Virginia - Penn-Roediger Field Ferrum, VA - The Piedmont College men's soccer team could not rally from a two-goal deficit in the second half of Friday's 2-1 loss to Ferrum College though the Lions put the Panthers on their heels for much of the second half.
The Lions outshot the Panthers in the contest 11-10 including a 7-4 margin in the second half. Ferrum dented the board first with a goal in the 28th minute by Keith Ricks controlling the play in the opening half.
The Panthers were able to get a second score in the second half against the run of play in the 53rd minute with Piedmont taking over from there.
CHRIS KELLER converted a penalty kick awarded in the 73rd and Piedmont piled on the chances in the final 20 minutes.
However, Ferrum withstood the test holding on for the 2-1 conference win at home despite the pressure applied from PC in the closing minutes.
Turning Point--CHRIS KELLER's penalty kick gave Piedmont new life after Ferrum had taken a 2-0 lead early in the second period.Standout Performances--CHASE KANE had three shots to lead all Lions in that category but could not find the target to force Ferrum keeper Sydnor Trent to make a save.

News & Notes--Each of the last two games in the series between these two has been a one-goal game with Piedmont winning last year 3-2.
--Piedmont is 6-2-1 against the Panthers since 2007 with both of Ferrum's wins coming in the last three meetings of the series.
Up NextA Saturday matchup in conference play with Greensboro College as the Lions continue on their final weekend trip of the regular season.
