Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 Greensboro, N.C. - The Piedmont Volleyball team is returning home as the Greensboro College Invitational champion after going undefeated over the weekend picking up two victories on Sunday. The Lady Lions (7-2) defeated tournament host Greensboro College and Guilford College in straight sets to extend their winning streak to five matches, during which PC has not dropped a set.

Piedmont won the tournament and junior Taylor Cramsey was named the tournament MVP for her efforts. She was also influential in the Lady Lions first victory at the tournament against Agnes Scott with 12 kills and another team best .526 attack percentage.

Against USA South member Greensboro the Lady Lions rolled to their fourth straight sweep though it was a tough road to get there. Piedmont took the first set 25-20 with another close set in the second 25-21 before taking the final set 25-18.

"It's a really important match because they're a conference team," Head Coach Sid Feldman said. "We made our statement to Greensboro that they're going to have to play well at our place later in the season."

It was Mallory Leary leading the charge with 8 kills while Katlin Norman tallied 7 and both Katelyn Dobbs and Cramsey contributed 6. Once again, Xandy Green and Kait Steele split the majority of the assists with Green coming in with 15 and Steele recording 12. Kendele Donaldson had her best performance of her young career with 23 digs against Greensboro while the team as a whole had 67 digs.

In the final match of the day against Guilford College, the Lady Lions swept the match running away with the first set 25-14 before having to fight in the second. The teams were tied at 18 in the second set before Piedmont pulled away with a 7-1 run to take the set 25-19, the same score as the final set.

Leading the team offensively was Norman with 10 kills, but it was Cramsey who posted the best attack percentage at .375 with 7 kills. Steele and Green again split the assists with 13 and 12 assists respectively. Katie Faith recorded 16 digs in the match while freshman Donaldson had 9 digs.

The Lady Lions have now won five straight dating back to the home opener against Toccoa Falls College and have not lost a set since then. PC is now 7-2 overall and has swept its opponents in six of those seven victories.

Piedmont will return to the court on the road at Reinhardt University in Waleska, Georgia on Tuesday night at 6:30 p.m. The Lady Lions have won the last two meetings between these teams.
