Demorest, GA - After Winter Storm Pax slammed the nearby Cornelia area with nearly nine inches of snow and ice, Piedmont's baseball team is yet another to feel the effects of weather on the athletic schedule as their series opener with Emory University has been postponed. The February 14th night contest will not be played Friday night though the game could be made up at a later date.
Schedule changes for the two remaining games in the series are possible though right now both are on as scheduled. However, depending on travel conditions as well as field conditions, that weekend baseball schedule could see some changes. Fans are advised to

With the conditions around the Northeast Georgia area, schedule changes for the remainder of the Piedmont athletics weekend are also possible, though as of February 13th, the home events on Saturday and Sunday are still on as scheduled. Women's lacrosse and softball both open their seasons on Saturday with action on the turf set to begin at 11:00 am while the nationally ranked softball squad will host a doubleheader beginning at 2:00 pm.
The Piedmont tennis teams are also set to travel to Sewanee for a season opener on the road against the University of the South on Saturday afternoon. The Lion and Lady Lion basketball teams are also still set to travel this weekend with games at LaGrange College and Huntingdon College.
