ATLANTA, Georgia - The Piedmont College baseball team traveled to in-state rival Oglethorpe University this evening and picked up the 5-3 non-conference victory. The Lions used six and two-thirds innings from the bullpen allowing only one run while striking out seven en route to the seventh win of the season.
In the second inning the Lions posted three runs on as many hits to take the early advantage.
AUSTIN BRICK posted the lone RBI with a bases loaded groundout. The home team would respond in the third notching two runs on four hits to cut the deficit to 3-2.

KEITH GRABOWSKI ripped a double scoring
TATE KOONS from third. Grabowski would later score on a
TYLER MARCINKO sacrifice-fly to cap the scoring.
Despite allowing a single run in the seventh the margin was enough for the Lions bullpen led by
ALLEN TOKARZ who went two and two-thirds of scoreless relief for his second win of the season. Three relievers bridged the gap before Jake Brewster posted his fourth save of the season with a perfect ninth inning that included a strikeout.
Grabowski led the offense going 2-4 with a walk, double, run batted in and a stolen base while
MICHAEL BARNES chipped-in going 2-3 and Koons went 1-2 with a pair of walks and stolen bases respectively.
The Lions, now 7-6 overall, will return to USA South Conference action this Saturday, March 2 as they play host to North Carolina Wesleyan College at Loudermilk Field starting at 3:00.
