Eslinger Moves Into Records Book On Lady Lions' Perfect 2-0 Day

Paige Eslinger (pink) became the school's all-time career digs leader this morning in the volleyball team's 3-0 victory over LaGrange.
Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 MONTGOMERY, Alabama – The PC volleyball team finished off a solid weekend as they posted a pair of victories this afternoon at the Huntingdon College Jubilee downing LaGrange College and host Huntingdon by identical 3-0 scores.  Senior libero PAIGE ESLINGER highlighted the day as she grabbed the school's career digs record during her 24-dig performance in the win over LC.

In the opener, Piedmont breezed past fellow USA South Athletic Conference newcomer LaGrange25-13, 25-22, 25-20.   XANDY GREEN and KATHERYN KNARR combined for 27 assists while DANIELLE MAFFETT led the way offensively with 10 kills.  Eslinger tallied 24 digs and in the process grabbed the school's all-time career digs total passing the previous mark of 1,309 held by Jennifer Granlund. 

In the fourth match of the round-robin even, Piedmont disposed of the host Hawks 25-16, 25-23, 25-21 behind 10 kills for KAITLIN NORMAN.  The Green/Knarr duo combined for another 30 assists while JENNIFER OPPER added five kills and three blocks.

The Saturday sweep moves PC to 3-1 overall on the season.  Piedmont will return to action on Wednesday, September 5 when the team travels down to Atlanta, GA to take on Oglethorpe University with first serve scheduled for 7:00 PM.
