Box Score DEMOREST, Georgia -- The Piedmont College women's basketball team picked up its third straight victory tonight with a decisive 74-50 home win over visiting Agnes Scott College.

MARY KATE RUSHTON each scored 18 points to lead the Lady Lions to their fourth victory through the first five games of the young seaon.

LAUREN HAMEL at the 15:24 mark gave the Lady Lions their first and final lead of the game. Piedmont would use a 12-0 run that spanned five minutes to extend the lead to 28-14 and never look back. PC held a 32-19 advantage at intermission.
ASC's attempt to slow the game's tempo down worked for the first few minutes of the contest before the Lady Lions' pressure defense took its toll. PC forced ASC into 25 turnovers which led to easy transition baskets for PC. ASC did hold a 47-38 advantage on the boards.
PC's Jones rounded out a complete night with four rebounds and three assists. Rushton was extremely efficient netting her 18 points in just 13 minutes of action highlighted by 5-7 from behind the three-point line. Hamel finished the evening with 14 points and three assists marking the sixth straight game the junior guard has reached double figures in scoring.
LAUREN ANDERSON continued her good work on the boards as she collected a team-high nine.
Morgan Cooper led ASC with a team-high 11 points while Shavonne Orr added 10.
Piedmont returns to action this weekend with the program's first-ever USA South road trip with the Lady Lions challenging NC Wesleyan College on Saturday before taking on Christopher Newport University on Sunday.
