Volleyball Team Takes Rubber Match With Covenant

Kaitlin Norman posted a team-high 13 kills in the Lady Lions' 3-1 road win at Covenant.
Box Score LOOKOUT MOUNTAIN, Georgia -- The Piedmont College volleyball team earned a 3-1 non-conference at Covenant College this evening to improve to 16-6 overall on the year.  After the host Scots won the first set 25-19 Piedmont rallied to win the final three 27-25, 25-19, 25-22.

The victory marked the first time this season that PC has rallied back after dropping the first set to secure the win.  "This was a quality win for us tonight on the road," stated head coach Sid Feldman.

Piedmont was led offensively by KAITLIN NORMAN and Jennfer Opper as each tallied double-figure kills with 13 and 10 respectively.  The duo of KATHERYN KNARR (18) and XANDY GREEN (16) again ochestrated the offense with 34 combined assists while defensive specialist PAIGE ESLINGER picked up a match-high 32 digs.

After splitting the first two matches, Piedmont earned the season series victory with tonight's road win over Covenant.

Piedmont (16-6 overall) will return to USA South Athletic Conference play on Saturday, October 13 when the team travels to Fayetteville, NC to take on host Methodist University and Greensboro College.
