Box Score DEMOREST, Georgia -- The Piedmont College men's soccer team sent its 2012 senior class out in style with a 2-0 USA South Athletic Conference victory over LaGrange College Wednesday at Walker Field.  Seniors SIDNEY SMITH and BRADLEY THOMAS each scored in the victory which earns the Lions a spot in the upcoming USA  South Athletic Conference Tournament as the team improves to 6-9-2 overall and 1-5-2 in conference play.

Smith made the most of his last time on Walker Field as he started the scoring posting the eventual-game winner at the 30:05 mark on an assist from JUSTIN WHITAKER.  The goal was the senior's team-leading 10th of the season.

Just three minutes later, the Lions would add an insurance goal as Whitaker assisted Thomas. The goal was his third of the season.

KENNETH HEARN recorded a shutout between the pipes turning away three shots on goal.  PC outshot LaGrange 8-5 and held a 7-2 advantage in corners.

Piedmont will now enter the conference championship as the #8 seed and will travel to Newport News, VA to take on top-seeded and regular-season champion Christopher Newport University.  Game time is set for Saturday, October 27 at 2:00 PM.  Just last weekend the Lions battled the #20-ranked Captains in a 3-2 home loss.
