Volleyball Team Grounds Petrels On Senior Night

Senior Paige Eslinger was honored as part of Senior Night prior to tonight's 3-1 home victory over Oglethorpe.
Box Score DEMOREST, Georgia -- The Piedmont College volleyball team earned revenge from an early season loss tonight as the Lady Lions grounded the Petrels of Oglethorpe University 3-1 in front of the Cave Crazies.  The team's lone senior PAIGE ESLINGER was honored in pregame ceremonies as she suited up for the 111th time in a PC uniform.

Oglethorpe had handed the Lady Lions a 3-2 defeat back on September 5 but PC evened the season series tonight with a 25-21, 22-25, 27-25, 25-22 victory. 

MALLORY LEARY and KAITLIN NORMAN led the PC offensive attack as they each tallied 10 kills.  Leary was especially effective hitting .308 on 26 attempts. KATHERYN KNARR orchestrated the offense passing for 22 assists while XANDY GREEN chipped in with 13 helpers.

Defensively Eslinger tallied a team-high 15 digs as four different Lady Lions posted double-figures in pick ups.  Knarr rounded off a double-double with 11 digs and Norman added 12 for a double-double of her own.

JENNIFER OPPER posted seven kills to go along with an impressive seven assisted blocks. 

McKenna Bodarenko led OU with a game-high 25 kills on 71 chances.  Anna Marie Desalvo posted 50 assists while Megan MaKuck totaled 26 digs. 

Piedmont returns to action on short rest when the Lady Lions travel down to LaGrange College tomorrow evening at 6:00 in USA South Athletic Conference acction.
