Brenau Hands Volleyball Team 3-1 Loss

Katheryn Knarr totaled 14 assists in the Lady Lions' 3-1 home loss to Brenau.
Box Score DEMOREST, Georgia -- The Piedmont College volleyball team came up on the short end of a 3-1 home loss to visiting Brenau University this evening in non-conference action in Cave Arena.  The NAIA Golden Tigers escaped with a 25-17, 25-20, 23-25, 25-22 win. 

KAITLIN NORMAN and MALLORY LEARY each shared team-high honors in kills with seven apiece.  JENNIFER OPPER and JENNA HOFFMAN each contributed offensively with five kills apiece. 

KATHERYN KNARR (14) and XANDY GREEN (12) combined for 26 assists while PAIGE ESLINGER was the defensive leader with a game-high 24 digs. Opper also played solid defense with eight digs and four assisted blocks. 

Norman also posted a season-high four service aces. 

The team's .022 hitting percentage was a season-low for the Lady Lions. 

Melissa Thornton led Brenau with a game-high 19 kills while Mekenna Cipres dished out 43 assists. 

Piedmont (17-8 overall) returns to action on Saturday, October 20th when the team travels to Danville, VA for a USA South Athletic Conference tri-match with host Averett University and Christopher Newport University.
