Demorest, GA -- The Piedmont College men's soccer team dropped its second contest in as many days earlier this afternoon falling 2-0 to visiting Guilford College.  The Quakers scored a pair of goals in the first half before holding on defensively to put the Lions out of business in the Inaugural Piedmont College Fall Invitational.

Outshot 20 to 11, the Lions saw their keeper Brian Gaid have to make five saves throughout today's action though the senior could not keep Ronnie Castellanos' strike from distance out in the 21st minute as the Quakers took a 1-0 lead.  Just before halftime, a penalty kick converted by Freddy Gomez put the Lions in a hole they would not be able to dig out of as Piedmont fell 2-0 at home.

Leading the home team in shots was senior Nick Weatherby who took five including three that were on goal while young teammate Rojelio Navarette put a pair of shots on goal to help.  In corners, Guilford also held an advantage taking 12 to Piedmont's seven.

With the loss, the Lions fall to 0-2 on the season.  Piedmont must recover quickly as the team hosts the University of Tampa on Tuesday night at home in a 7:00 evening contest.  The Spartans are currently ranked #23 in NCAA Division II.
