Demorest, GA --
The Piedmont College baseball team got their fourth win in a row earlier today dropping Adrian College 6-5 on a seventh inning score to polish off a come-from-behind effort.  All four of the team's victories during their current win streak have come within the friendly confines of Loudermilk Field.

Adrian would take the lead first in today's action as the ballclub from Michigan scored a pair of first inning runs to go up 2-0 after the top of the inning.  However, Piedmont would quickly tie the score at two a piece in the bottom half with John Duke picking up a RBI single and James Moyer also batting in a run on a fielder's choice.

After holding the Bulldogs scoreless in the second, PC would grab the lead for the first time in the game in the bottom half of the inning as infielder Curtis Cornett singled to score centerfielder Dave Bartek.  Though the Lions surged ahead 3-2, their time in the driver's seat was limited as Adrian came back in the top of the next inning to go ahead once more 4-3.

The Bulldogs added a run to their lead in the top of the fifth pushing the score to 5-3 but saw their lead cut down to just a single run in the bottom of the fifth when catcher James Moyer collected his second RBI of the day driving in Colton Bryant on a single.  Piedmont continued to chip away at the visitor's lead as Cornett's ground-rule double sent outfielder KYLE DAVIS across home plate to tie the ball game at five in the sixth inning.

Getting level with the Bulldogs, the Lions then got the lead back for the second time on the day after loading the bases for savvy veteran Dave Bartek.  The senior outfielder responded for Head Coach Jim Peeples getting the job done with a sacrifice fly that scored temmate James Moyer to put the Lions up 6-5.

It was then up to closer Matt Collins to shut the door on the Bulldogs in the ninth which the senior did retiring three of the four batters he faced to hold on to the one run lead.  All of Collins' ninth-inning outs came by way of strikeouts as the pitcher has now three saves in 2011.

The win for the Lions goes to reliever Ed Cook who came on in the top of the seventh to get PC through the eighth without allowing a run and giving up just a single hit.  Cook moves to 2-0 on the year lowering his ERA to 3.24 having made seven appearances for the 2011 Lions.

Catcher James Moyer was key offensively going 1-3 at the plate collecting a pair of RBIs while scoring the game's winning run.  Kyle Davis continued his spectacular spring season going 2-4 at the dish with a pair of runs scored.  Davis is now hitting .481 for the season while slugging .615 for the Lions.

The victory moves Piedmont to 8-4 on the year including a 6-1 mark at home.  The Lions will play their fourth game in as many days tomorrow afternoon as the squad hosts Adrian once more for the second of a two-game set.  The February 28 ballgame is set for a 3:00 first pitch.
