Atlanta, GA --
The Piedmont College men's soccer team fell on the road to nationally-ranked Emory University by a 5-0 final earlier this evening collecting only the team's third loss the season.  After holding the in-state opponent to a single goal in the first half, the Lions gave up four second half scores as tenth-ranked Emory pushed their unbeaten streak to eight.

In the opening period, the Lions staved off an attack from the home team going 20 minutes before allowing a goal to the Eagles.  After the break, Emory would tack on four more scores to finish off the 5-0 victory, their eighth straight, over the visiting Lions.

Junior netminder Brian Gaid finished the match with four saves while classmate Nick Weatherby led the way on the offensive end putting a pair of shots on target.  Sophomore Sidney Smith also added a shot on goal.

Piedmont will return to action this weekend when they host a 1:00 match on Saturday, September 25 against the University of Dallas.  The match will be played at the newly renovated Walker Field, a now artificial turf playing facility of Piedmont College.
