Martinsville, VA --
The Piedmont College men's soccer team fell in their first match at the AU Cougar Classic to Guilford College by the final score of 5-1 earlier this afternoon.  In spite of entering the match having held their previous three opponents to a lone goal, the Lions were only able to muster a single goal themselves in their first loss of the 2010 season.

The Lions worked throughout the 90 minute match against the NCAA region opponent Quakers, but the squad eventually allowed the program's highest goal total in close to three years under Head Coach Jimmy StephensBradley Thomas had the highlight for the Lions posting the team's only goal unassisted in the loss.

Piedmont now sits at 3-1 overall but will look to get back to its winning ways quickly as they face Averett University on Sunday September 12 in a 1:00 match to wrap up play in the AU Cougar Classic.
