Contact: Tim McCormack, Sports Information Director

Greg Neeley has been named the head men's basketball coach at Ancilla College in Indiana.
Demorest, GA -- Piedmont College men's assistant basketball coach Greg Neeley has resigned from his position at the school and will be announced as the new head men's basketball coach at Ancilla College. Ancilla, located in Donaldson, Indiana, is s member of the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) and the Michigan Community College Athletic Association (MCCAA). His promotion also vacates the head men's and women's tennis positions at PC.

The move is a homecoming of sorts for Neeley, with Ancilla located just 20 miles from his hometown of Bremen, IN and he is returning to the upper Midwest where he has strong local ties. Ancilla is just 30 miles south of South Bend, IN and 80 miles southeast of Chicago.

Neeley has served as head coach Lee Glenn's top assistant for the past three seasons and has been involved in all aspects of the program including overseeing all recruiting and is well-prepared for this career advancement.

The Lions finished last season with a 15-11 record that included a championship at the 8th Annual NYC Tournament of Heroes in Staten Island, NY. The 15-win season marked the highest win total in the NCAA era and marks only the second time in the past 14 season the program has reached the 15 win mark.

“Gene Reese (Ancilla College Athletic Director) and the search committee absolutely hit a home run with this hire. Greg is one of the brightest rising stars in our profession and is going to make an immediate impact on his new team as he embarks on a highly successful head coaching career,'" stated Coach Glenn. "On one hand today is a great day as one of our basketball family has earned a well-deserved promotion that we knew was an inevitable next move, but on the other hand we are losing an ambassador of or campus, a first-class professional and a friend."

“I am honored to move closer to my family and take on this exciting opportunity at Ancilla College. At the same time, I extend a sincere thank you to Coach Glenn (Men's Basketball Coach), Coach Dzik (Athletic Director), the PC student-athletes, and the rest of the Piedmont College family for being instrumental in helping prepare me for this opportunity. I thoroughly enjoyed my time at Piedmont and am extremely appreciative of the relationships that I will carry with me for a very long time.” stated Neeley.

In just one season as the head coach of the tennis programs, Neeley led the squads to a combined six-win improvement from the previous campaign and mentored the Great South Athletic Conference Men's Player of the Year. He also had four of his student-athletes earn GSAC All-Academic distinction.

Ancilla is on the heels of a disappointing 2-22 season with a young roster that included only four sophomores.
