Fayetteville, NC -- The Piedmont College baseball team dropped both games of a doubleheader on the road this afternoon to conclude the 2010 season. The Lions first fell to York College of Pennslyvania by a 11-1 score before dropping an 8-5 decision to Methodist University.

PC would strike first in its second game of the day this time against Methodist University as Lion

Kevin McConnell. Methodist would then score the tying run in the bottom of the same inning.
The Lions took their lead back in the top of the third when McConnell once again contributed this time at the plate with an RBI. Despite taking an advantage, Methodist would go on to score seven runs over the next four innings to race out to a 8-2 lead going into the top of the ninth.
Piedmont would add three runs in their last chance at bat on a two run triple from
Kyle Davis and a RBI single from infielder
John Duke, but the rally would fall short as Methodist claimed the three run decision 8-5.
Pitcher
Dusty Black took the loss for the Lions going six innings allowing five runs moving his overall record to 5-5 on the season.
The Lions finish 2010 with an even 21-21 record overall while maintaining a 4-5 mark in conference play.
